Check out this fun-filled lesson bundle featuring four separate lesson activity booklets to help your students learn about courage within the character traits of zest, perseverance, honesty, and bravery.
Zest is defined as approaching life with excitement and energy; not doing things halfway or half-heartedly; living life as an adventure; feeling alive and activated!
Perseverance is a character strength. It is defined as finishing what one starts, persisting in a course of action despite obstacles, “getting it done,” and taking pleasure in completing tasks.
Honesty is a character strength. It is defined as speaking the truth, presenting oneself genuinely, and taking responsibility for one’s feelings and actions.
Bravery is a character strength. It is defined as not shrinking from threat, challenge, difficulty, or pain, speaking up for what is right, and acting on convictions even if unpopular.
Each of the lesson activity booklets features a different sports or historical figure who exemplifies the character strength being taught. For example, students will learn about Michael Jordan when learning about zest. Students will also learn about Susan B. Anthony in the perseverance booklet, Abraham Lincoln in the honesty booklet, and Harriet Tubman in the bravery unit.
